Beau’s Brewing fosters connections over great craft beer

Rosanne Lake

Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company is highly-acclaimed and passionate about quality. But behind all that is a simple purpose: connection.

The brewery in Vankleek Hill has been brewing good times and creating moments of real conversation and celebration for almost two decades. During that time, the brewery has been perfecting interesting, inspired and down-right tasty craft brews that showcase the pure love of beer at the heart of the entire operation.

According to The Beau’s Team, along the way, Beau’s Vankleek Hill Tap Room has become a favourite road trip stop and a destination for beer lovers. “Our beer brings people together to connect – what is better than catching up with a friend over a beer,” the Beau’s Team said, adding that Beau’s beer is crafted to encourage those memorable moments.

The Tap Room

Indeed, the Beau’s Tap Room is a comfortable space to discover their award-winning brews. It’s rustic and warm, full of familiar faces while also being welcoming to those who are visiting for the first time. “The tap room utilizes exposed beams, natural wood and metal fixtures to really set the scene for the brewery,” the Beau’s Team said, noting that Friday and Saturday nights are usually packed for live music. “Guests can enjoy pints and flights of beer with snacks at long communal tables with others.”

Beau’s is known for its complimentary tastings. In fact, visitors can sample from more than a dozen fresh brews on tap while they chat with staff and learn about the brewing and bottling process at the brewery.

The Beer

As a fixture on the Ontario Craft Beer scene since 2006, Beau’s pays respect to the longstanding traditions of beer-making while also inspiring new favourites with fresh recipes. The Beau’s Team said the number one year-round flagship beer at Beau’s is Lug Tread. “Lug Tread is top-fermented (like an ale) and then cold-aged (like a lager), giving it light ale notes complemented by a lager-like crispness,” the Team said. This golden ale has earned more than 20 awards for brewing excellence since its release in 2006.

Another recent fan favourite is the Juiced AF hazy IPA – think full throttle, NEIPA, double-dry-hopped and unfiltered for a revved-up ride of tasty fun. Whether it’s Lug Lite, Nordic Pale Ale, Full Time IPA or sessionable beers, there’s sure to be something on tap at Beau’s that is poised to become your next go-to with quality and innovation at its core.

And the critics agree – over the past two decades, Beau’s Brewing has won more than 100 awards for brewing, package design and business practices.

Giving back at Beau’s

Brewing great beer isn’t the only consideration at Beau’s – it’s doing so with an honest commitment to the environment. More than 10 years ago, Beau’s became the first brewery in Canada to achieve Benefit Corporation status for prioritizing social responsibility. Going a step further, the brewery uses environment-friendly packaging, as well as ensuring that all posters, brochures and coasters are 100 percent post-consumer, made from recycled materials.

Closer to home, Beau’s is giving back. In fact, they’ve donated more than $1 million to charities, community groups and the independent arts since opening, and the brewery shows no sign of stopping. It has pledged another $5 million in donations in the next 10 years throughout communities where the beer is sold.

Looking ahead

In terms of what to expect for spring, The Beau’s Team said some new releases are on the horizon. The brewery has two new and different beers coming out soon, so stay tuned. Events are also a constant at the brewery! Look for live music throughout the winter.
