Jennifer is about to become Rainbow Registered and strives to make guests from all around the world, and those new to Canada feel at home. “It’s really important to me that everyone feels welcome,” she said.

Choose your sanctuary: the snuggly embrace of the yurt or the romantic allure of the houseboat. Jennifer said she and her wife “have always loved yurts, and had this idea that we could make it a really magical space to share with others.”

As soon as the yurt hit Airbnb, guests started booking immediately, she said.

Designers at heart, when the idea to add a second offering came up, they felt drawn to do something very different this time. They found a derelict houseboat, moved it to the property, and began work on its incredible transformation.

Now that 50-year-old houseboat has been lovingly transformed into an all-season cabin. Luxurious amenities abound, ensuring comfort and relaxation. Unwind in this secluded oasis, nestled in the woods, not far from the picturesque lakefront park.

She tries to make each guest’s stay a unique experience, she said.

“I really love it when people are here for special occasions. It touches me that my Airbnbs become part of their treasured memories.”

From heart-shaped pillows to rose petals and celebratory banners, Jennifer is happy to offer extras to make it personal.

“I love it when they let me let me in on what they’re doing, and we work together on how to make their stay an even more memorable one,” she said. “We’ve had nearly a dozen wedding proposals in the two years and at least as many honeymoons! It touches me that the little things I do mean so much.”

Jennifer said when single women come for their own personal retreats, they say they feel very safe while here, “and that’s what I strive to do for all my guests.”

And while Jennifer lives close by and is available most of the time, rest assured privacy is paramount for all guests. Their home is at the back of the property, facing the woods, so guests can retreat into their own secluded haven.
