Check-in to your accommodation in Cornwall, whether it’s a hotel, bed and breakfast, or vacation rental. Spend the afternoon exploring the city’s downtown area, which has a range of shops, cafes, and restaurants.

In the morning, take a nature walk. Cornwall has several parks and nature reserves, such as the Gray’s Creek Conservation Area which features over 43 hectares of natural landscape with more than six-kilometres of walking trails—geocaching locations are also hidden within. Spend the morning exploring and keep your camera in hand to snap photos of the abundance of wildlife that call the area home, and learn about the surroundings through the interpretive signs scattered throughout the trails.
The conservation area is a great spot to take in the sights while you enjoy a leisurely hike, bike ride or quiet stroll.

In the afternoon, head to one of Cornwall’s many beaches for a day of relaxation. Some of the popular ones include Guindon Park Beach and the Cornwall Civic Complex Beach. Bring a picnic lunch and plenty of sunscreen and spend the day soaking up the sun, swimming in the river, and enjoying the scenery. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before packing up and checking out of your accommodation. If you have time, you can do some last-minute shopping in the downtown area before departing to Upper Canada Golf Course.
Designed in the early 1960’s by notable course architect, Robbie Robinson, Upper Canada Golf Course is situated in one of the most picturesque settings in South Eastern Ontario. As a public, 6922-yard, 18-hole course, Upper Canada Golf Course offers beginners and professionals the perfect opportunity to test their skills, while the natural beauty and abundance of wildlife provide an experience unlike any other course in the area.
Time to set aside: 1hr–5hrs
If you’re short on time, play a quick nine, hit the driving range or practice your short game on the putting greens. Tee times must be scheduled in advance and can be booked through the online booking system or over the phone—golfers are asked to arrive 30-minutes prior to their tee time to prevent delays.
If golf isn’t really your thing, take a day trip out to Akwesasne (don’t forget your passport!) You could do a cultural tour and a basket-making workshop.

Next, visit some of the local wineries and vineyards in the area, such as the Stone Crop Acres Winery or the Smokie Ridge Vineyard. Take a tour of the facilities, learn about the winemaking process, and sample some of the delicious wines. If you’re not a fan of wine, head to Humble Beginnings Brewing Co.
Take a scenic drive to Oxford Station and settle in at a hotel, bed and breakfast, or vacation rental.

Start your morning early with a visit to Wildling Acres Flower Farm for a guided tour of the farm where you can learn about the different crops grown on the land. This is a peaceful and relaxing retreat in the countryside for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and connect with nature.
If you’re visiting on a Sunday, visit the local farmers market in Kemptville and pick up fresh produce and artisanal products for a picnic lunch. For a quick boost of caffeine, visit Bubba & Bugs.
Next, head to Burritts Rapids Lockstation, which is part of the Rideau Canal. The Rideau Canal is a National Historic Site of Canada and offers many recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing, cycling, and hiking. Burritts Rapids Lockstation runs through the town of Kemptville and is easily accessible from various points along the canal. You can watch boats go through the locks and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This is also a beautiful spot to watch the sunset over the canal!
In the evening, have dinner at one of the local restaurants, such as the Brigadoon or Salamanders.
